I've never seen anything like Ganvié, a city of 40,000 people built on a lake near Cotonou, Bénin 🇧🇯

The city was founded by locals who tried to stay out of the hands of slave traders, and it is recognized as a UNESCO heritage site 🏛️

This city has no streets but canals, so you need a boat to get around. It's interesting to see how differently life is organized when you live on the water 🌊
